I chose to write about was the longest running american cartoon series The Simpsons. This is a show that i have enjoyed watching for many years, and has been around longer than i have been alive. With over 20 seasons, The Simpson’s is a fictional animated series and shows aspects of American culture, TV and events that are occurring now in society. The family set in the cartoon is a middle class american family which consists of Homer Bart Lisa Marge and Maggie. I always enjoyed watching the show because it shows a normal dysfunctional family and how funny things can be when they are crazy. Homer Simpson is a television idol and he portrays the less than average lazy American stereotype who is always dealing with the irony of life. Being a devoted father and husband he is always involved in the family business. My favorite quote from him is “DOH!”, which he says when something goes wrong. The reason I chose to write about The Simpsons is because it is a well known TV show and is apart of the American visual culture. This show has brought up many other animated series about the middle class American family and has greatly influenced American animated television.
